- Intel Mac incompatibility: There is an incompatibility between the new Intel based Mac computers and the general release and previous public preview MIO Consoles that would lead to MIO Console meters freezing, and a hang of the application during firmware updates. There have also been reports of loss of UI controls like phantom power and input trim levels.
WORKAROUND: There is a new package posted to the MIO Drivers page that contains a new public beta MIO Console version 3.0pb38, Driver 2.2d94, and firmware 2.2.00, all of which are qualified for use with the Intel Macs. PowerPC users will need to remain at driver version 2.2d14, but can safely use firmware 2.2.00 and Console 3.0b38.

- Mix Bus Support: The current version of the Mobile I/O Driver Package, release version 2.2, has support for up to six mono buses at single rates (44.1, 48kHz), and two mono buses at double rates (88.2, 96kHz) when using the 2882. The ULN-2 supports six mono mix buses at both single and double sample rates.

- Certain models of Mac hardware will not power a Mobile I/O on startup: Some models of the new Mac Intel computers have a new protection circuitry that will not allow the Mobile I/O hardware to power up. The IEEE 1394 specification has a limit on the in rush energy that a device is allowed to consume, and the Mobile I/Os (and many other bus-powered devices) exceed this spec. This is only an issue during the startup power transient, once the MIO has booted, it can run off of the power provided by the FireWire bus.
Issue Number: 551
- +DSP does not function at 2x rates on 2882: The current version of the Mobile I/O firmware (2.2.00) does not support +DSP operation at 2x sample rates (88.2, 96kHz) on 2882+DSP models. This issue does not apply to ULN-2+DSP.
Issue Number: 508
- MIO Driver won't pass audio when first driver channel is not active/engaged: MIO Driver with Digital Performer (and possibly other hosts) will not output audio when DP is not targeting Driver channel 1. For hosts that use the stream enables on MIO OUTPUT streams, disabling stream/channel 1 confuses the output of the MIO Driver and results in no output at all. Current work-around is to always enable channel 1 output (can be done with an aux or the like).
Issue Number: 153
- Analog input adjustments on 2882 result in zipper noise in audio: Changing the gain of an input on the 2882 and 2882+DSP may result in some zipper noise being introduced to the signal. This zipper noise is symptomatic of the digital pots used in the design of the MIO 2882. Unfortunately, there is no fix for this, so there will always be some level of zipper noise when changing the gain level by using the knobs, usually the worst on analog input 3. Many times, though, the noise may be negligible. Entering a new gain level directly into the text field will significantly limit the effects of this.
- Clicks in audio stream with multiple apps in use: Some users encounter this problem if two or more audio applications are actively playing to the Mobile I/O at the same time. This does not affect all users. Care should be taken to only play audio from one application at a time. If this is not possible, the problem seems to be reduced/removed when the buffer sizes are set to the same value.
